When I started at Principal®, I admit, I was comfortable in my role and just here to get the job done.

But in time, I started to use more of our employee benefits. I got involved in our workplace community. And I’ve grown personally and professionally because of it—becoming invested in my career and dedicated to taking on leadership responsibilities.

Here’s how it played out for me:

Fifth Third Awards More Than $25,000 in Small Business Grants

CINCINNATI, December 16, 2024 /3BL/ - Throughout the month of November, Fifth Third (NASDAQ: FITB) showed appreciation to small businesses across its 11-state footprint through a unique social media competition and tipping campaign, with employees celebrating their favorite local small businesses on social media for the opportunity to win one of five $5,300 grants.

Fifth Third employees across the country participated in the campaign, entering more than 2,800 local small businesses nationally for recognition through social media posts using the hashtag #Love53.

Project Gift Collects More Than 5,000 Toys To Support Local Children

This holiday season will be much brighter for children in the west Georgia area following the response to Southwire’s annual toy drive in Carrollton, Ga.

With support from Southwire’s Project GIFT volunteers, team members, community partners and local residents, the event collected more than 5,000 toys — donating them to Carroll County Toys for Tots, which works to benefit children in west Georgia. 

Storm Support Teams Assist Utilities After Back-to-Back Hurricanes

In late September and early October, the Southeastern U.S. endured two significant severe weather events: Hurricane Helene, followed quickly by Hurricane Milton. These back-to-back storms caused tremendous damage to the power infrastructure across multiple states. Hundreds of Leidos team members volunteered to help impacted utilities perform vital damage assessments to ensure that electric service was restored to these hard-hit communities.
