CSR Education Center in Pune/India

Mitcon - Pune, IndiaMr. Martin Neureiter, president of the CSR Company International was guest of honour event on April 5th in Pune, Maharashtra/India when Mitcon, the government’s own education institution, opened the first of a series of „CSR education centres“.  He formally opened the premises in a celebration bringing together Mitcon Managing Director, Dr. Praveen Bavadskar, Mitcon Vice President Santosh Mathews and implementation partner Rajesh Tiwari, CEO of the Indian Centre for CSR. Among the more than 100 business leaders from Pune who attended the opening were top managers of companies like TATA Communications and TATA Motors.

In his inaugural speech on CSR and international trends Mr. Neureiter highlighted the importance of ISO 26000 as the tool to implement CSR in a profitable manner rather than only thinking of it as a cost factor used for charity and sponsorship.

CSR Company’s local partner Indian Centre for CSR, ICCSR, is led by former advisor to two Prime Ministers of India and Reliance Board Member, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari. The ICCSR will actively support and train people from all over Maharashtra to be able to fill job slots in top notch companies now complying with the newly adopted Company Act making CSR for companies in India an obligatory exercise. The premises in Pune offer training facilities for up to 2.200 students in different business skills - now also with two dedicated floors for CSR and related managerial skills.
